What Can Go in a Skip?
Bricks, rubble, uncontaminated soil, packaging, furniture, wood, metal, furnishings and plastic can all go in a skip. You should avoid putting electrical waste, electronic equipment, chemicals, batteries, gas bottles, plasterboard, asbestos, clinical waste and tyres. We are unable to accept these materials.
How Much Does it Cost to Hire a Skip?
The price of hiring a skip varies, and there are many factors to consider. The size of your skip, the materials you are putting in the skip, and your location will be taken into account. The length of time you need the skip will also affect the price. At Carl Bird Limited, our costs are competitive, and we aim to make skip hire affordable.
Do You Recycle Waste from a Skip?
Yes, at Carl Bird Skip Hire, we recycle as much as possible from a skip. Our waste transfer station can separate a range of different materials, and then we reuse and recycle as much as possible. We aim to send as little as possible to the landfill.
Can I Fill a Skip to the Very Top?
Yes, you can fill a skip to the very top, but you should avoid piling waste any higher than the sides. For us to load and transport the skip safely, it needs to be a level load.
How Long Can I Hire a Skip For?
You can hire a skip for as long as you need it, but most people find anywhere between 1 and 14 days sufficient. If you need a skip for longer, talk to our team about a long-term arrangement.
What Size Skip Do I Need?
There are a lot of skips available, which means that you shouldn’t struggle to find a skip that works for you. It’s not a case of ‘one size fits all’ with skips in Norfolk, and you will need to consider how much waste you are likely to have. We have a range of skip sizes and RORO skips for larger jobs.
What access requirements do the lorries need?
Our lorries require 9ft 6 to safely gain access to any property.
Do you just do skip hire?
No, alongside skip hire we can supply aggregates on any scale, muck away on our 8-wheel tipper lorries, site clearance work and more. If you’re wondering if we can assist your project please don’t hesitate to call or email us.
